Even if you’re old enough to remember the Internet before social media, you’ll agree that nowadays life online is unfathomable without Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. For many people, the Internet equals social media. Especially celebrities.
But there are some exceptions. Whether it’s because they believe they’re famous enough or because they just haven’t quite gotten the knack of it, some stars avoid social media. Unbelievable in this day and age, you say?
Well, meet these Bollywood weirdoes:
1. Rani Mukerji.
Rani recently confessed that she does not post any pictures of her toddler, Adira, because her husband, Aditya Chopra, likes to keep his family away from the public eye. Rani does not even have a social account. Her sister Kajol, however, is pretty active online.
2. Kangana Ranaut.
Kangana avoids social media because she thinks it’s a waste of time. “I am inactive so I don’t miss [social media],” she said, adding, “Certainly one of the good things about such mediums is that you can actually clarify your stand when you are sort of facing rumors and misunderstood. The bad things is that you are susceptible to all kinds of nasty trolls and frustrated people who are just out to show their frustration regardless of whosoever it is and you get subjected to that sort of hatred which is inhuman.”
3. Kareena Kapoor.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is not on any social media, but she says she monitors mentions of herself. So she’s a lurker who knows what’s going on—but prefers not to let on. Meanwhile, her elder sister, Karisma Kapoor, is pretty active online.
4. Saif Ali Khan.
Kareena’s husband is another Bollywood celebrity you won’t find online. Well, at least you won’t find an account that belongs to him. His daughter Sara Ali Khan is all over social media, often posting family pictures, so there’s that.
5. Ranbir Kapoor.
His family loves Instagram, his father, Rishi Kapoor, is a Twitter hero, but RK is not a fan of the Internet. He is probably one of the only stars of his generation to not be on any social platform.
Can you think of any other celebs with no social-media presence?
