Sony has created a portable, wearable air conditioner for those who are always hot. The device—which also works as a heater—is expected to hit the stores by March 2020. For now, the product will only be available in Japan.
The gadget fits under a shirt and is then controlled via an app, where the user can set the desired temperature.
The project, called the Reon Pocket, emerged from a campaign on Sony’s own First Flight crowdfunding platform. The device is expected to be available to visitors at the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics next year.
If you think the pocket A.C. will be expensive, you’re in for a surprise. The expected price for Reon Pocket in Japan is ¥12,760 (about $117). The battery lasts about 90 minutes.
Sony, however, recommends that air conditioning be used only when really necessary.
